Microsoft rocks with new maps

    Now we see real competion in local listings, maps : Google, Yahoo and now Microsoft

    After they fix the scrolling lag a bit and add better controls its gonna be great for usre, the pics rock, lovely to see my Manhattan with so much detail <3 too bad they dont show a pic of where i live too :p

    Well their copy is better than google in that it has better images....googles images arent that good

    frankly, its neither google or msn makes these pictures or maps. They buy/lease this stuff from other companies who specialize in these areas. Check the small notice on google/msn maps at the right/left bottom corners

    The data source is just planes taking pictures as they fly overhead. Not a terribly scalable way of mapping the world. ;)

    A similar way to the google maps - these were created by driving round all the roads in a van with GPS!

    that is really neat

    but I noticed that a lot of areas are not Birds Eye View mapped like Google or Yahoos
