Especially in asian countries which is the largest market for pirated software, the software prices should de subsidized.

But what wud happen to their cost of production? Their marketing costs etc...
And showing the ads wont let them recover that cost of production/marketing and many more..

Pirated Windows has been in existence ever since Windows 95 came out and this is unlikely to change anytime soon ;)

It is always the best option to purchase an OS legitimately. It doesn't really matter what MS is claiming in regards to this, and undoubtedly cracked versions of 7 are responsible for at least a fair number of infections. p2p and torrents can be a dangerous environment if folks aren't careful about what they download. Like I said, the best, *safest* option is to simply buy it and don't try to cheat the system. At least that way you'll know you have a company backing you, instead of trying to snuff you out.

all i know is that you can use an Upgrade copy of win7 to install on a fresh hard drive without any previous versions of windows without any issues. As far as a malware breakout on priated copies.. never heard of that one.

With any big release from MS, hackers will jump on the opportunity to spread viruses by pretending to give out legitimate copies.

This has always been done in the past, not sure why people don't think it would happen now?

Yeah, right. You can get nice and clean ISO for MSDN subscribers on some warez sites without any "suprises". Just depends where you leech from.

Its all about pricing. In here, home premium costs around RM300 (equiv to US$100) but what you can get for RM1 in here is quite the same as what you can get with a US$ in the US. So basically, spending RM300 is basically like spending US$300. I'm not sure how this is called. purchasing power or stuffs like that

Point is, if 7 is cheaper (lets say maybe RM100 or US$30), i think most would resort on buying the original. I know I would

How does the piratebay.org have to do with anything in regards to creating pirated software? There only a torrent index.

Now with this malware Outbreak rumor, it's only a Mircosoft ploy to get users to buy there new OS. They finally released something that isn't terrible so just think everyone should buy it ;)
