No doubt Open Office give you free application but most of features which were using in these days have only Microsoft, and if its were included in Open Office then Microsoft functions were much easy to use than other applications.
You are absolutely correct and my company uses OO exclusively even though we own a copy of Office. Like you, it does everything we need it to do although we rarely use such things anymore. We do everything online, including using Google Docs.
There are a few things that Office does that Open Office doesn't. If can't rattle off a list of them right now that are deal breakers for you, you should just use OO.
OO kinda sucks when dealing with tables, but otherwise OO and its recent spinoff LibreOffice work like a charm. P.S. Don't tell the guys in China that you're supposed to pay for Microsoft Office. You might give them a heart attack.
There are some major differences between Microsoft and OpenOffice. OpenOffice is visually unattractive then Microsoft Office. Microsoft provide full range of features and functionality. And it offers the best experience across PC, phone, and browser.

I am not participating for the selecting the best but I suggest to have both. The main reason is that except encryption / password type protection every protected file created in microsoft office can be changed by open office suit. Second reason is that even there is a specific plugin for microsoft office suit to open and change open office files but it is not worked properly and hence better to have separate room for each other.
It Ñ–s not a good idea to compare sоmething free with Ñ•omethÑ–ng that Ñ–t Ñ–s not free with developers working 100% on thiÑ• soft. OO Ñan be uѕеd for evеrуbody needing thаt soft, beÑ–ng careless of nicest interfaces. MS Office Ñ–s a great product, nice fonts, gui's etÑ but it cost money. What Ñ–t has tо bе reаlly discussed Ñ–s hоw mаnу of home users аrе needing thоѕe programs and if, indеed needed, how mаnу cаn usе OO free tо satisfaction vÑ• MS office at cost. Personally I feel thаt moÑ•t of MS office аt home it Ñ–s uÑ•ed lеѕs than 5% of its power.
I find the smallest bundle from Microsoft is not very expensive. I downloaded it from the microsoft website. When I got a new computer I was able to repeat this. I find office very easy to use. I also use google docs. I probably use google docs more often. But there are times when microsoft office is needed. I have tried open office several times. Unfortunately, and it is not quite easy for me to use. there are little inconveniences is that make it awkward.
Everyone needs to give Google Docs a try. It's so easy to use and 100% free! I stopped using MS office years ago, because of paid upgrades and switched Google Docs.
I heard the news that the office is now open to third-party purchased. And now changed to a libre. Whether the news is that I listen to this true?
Personally i think that open office and Google docs will likely start taking down the monopoly that Microsoft has as most people only need power point and word. Business users obviously may need more things but over all for the home users its word and power point. So when it comes to buying office nah why would you unless you like the look.
Microsoft is more professional. No doubt has more features than OpenOffice. Especially in the later versions such as 2007 or 2010. If you were to do office work, for example, you wouldn't use OpenOffice.
Can someone help me. I have found a website who is selling MS office 2010 & windows 7 Keys on very very cheap price. They claims that it this key will pass MS activiation? any suggestions?
