Each one has it's advantages, of course, Windows for gaming and Linux for development.

Microsoft. Although it isnt as secure as Linux, I find it easier to use.

Why just those two? I prefer Apple machines and I got what I paid for until one of the kids spilled coffee on it... and then the other spilled apple juice on it right after it got fixed :)

Actually, it isn't my Mac. It's my wife's. I gave her my MacBookPro (since she was about to kill our first born) and I moved into her Acer Aspirce One. Nifty little machine (it helps to use an external monitor/keyboard/mouse). Now that I'm all moved in... I hate it! Back to Windows XP??? The interface stinks... I think those OS X animated min/maximizings just relieve stress. Using Windows XP again is a grind.

Yeah, v7 seems nicer, but it's just a cheap knock-off of OS X. Use a Mac and you wont go back. I'm telling you...

And Linux is great when I'm craving the CentOS command-line :). I don't like it as a personal machine. It's not bad, it's just not for me.

However, in today's development age, you really would be good to use all three. With some virtualization, hackery and time you could actually install all 3 on the same machine.

NO doubt Microsoft has a larger hold on the computer market. But ever since I have used Ubuntu, I am just loving it. It has great features and once you use it you will love it. Its secured too.

I used Fedora linux for a month and felt like tied with a rope when using it. We need to search rpm file to download new softwares and unfortunately we can't find any in search .so i skipped to Microsoft again.

Linux will give you better performance, but Windows version is easier to restore in case of disasters.
As for me, I prefer Widows because it is user friendly and easy-to-use OS.

this is actually what will happen to you when you're too lazy to ask in the forum.. YUM is easy to use to install software and you need not to search rpm packages.

I dual boot Windows with Fedora on one of my PC's and that works pretty well. Though I am getting increasingly annoyed by Windows, led by PATH exceptions.
