May be you could try Word 2003. It has no ribbon bar.

I think that 2007 is the best one yet. The features that it offers make my life a lot easier when I have to type of business plans and insert pictures and pie charts and so on. The best thing for me is when you want to change a font you can just hover over what you want and it will show you what your text looks like before selecting it. That means that there is no more highlight and select and then deciding what you want.

Well before I confuse you further I will just end this by saying that 2007 eliminates the guess work.

I have been fairly satisfied with Office version 2003 and had no plans to upgrade to 2007....

A good review just above has prompted me to seriously consider upgrading to 2007....I hope I do not repent it later...

Office 2007 is the best one yet. Best to navigate, best features and usability is far better than the other versions.

It did take a while to get used to the way it works

The only people I ave talked to that don't like 2007 are the ones that took one look and didn't even give it a chance. If you use it for a few hours, you will be hooked.

I really like 2007 as well; the ribbon bar and all the other new features make it easier to navigate, quicker to use, and in general more efficient. It actually brings features that nobody has heard about to the front of the line.

    I couldn't imagine going back to 2003.

It may be nicer to look at but I found it to be more cumbersome to use. I much prefer using 2003 even though it doesn't look as nice. They removed a feature in 2007 that really irritated me. The one that auto fills words as you type. You can still do it but you have an extra step for it.

Finding stuff is also annoying seeing that I've used word for years and now I have to search all over for stuff I used to use regularly. Even opening a blank sheet and closing a page is just annoying. I had to create a bunch of quick buttons for everything.

Overall I am not happy with the changes. I find myself gravitating towards the PC with 2003 for ease of use.

Many people might have a problem working with Microsoft Word2007 but let me tell you all, it is way better than the previous versions. The features in 2007 word are amazing. There are marked improvements in tables, word formatting, background development and different templates too. You just need to figure out how to work on these. And once you do, you are all set to go!!!
