microsoft office has asked me for a product key evrytime i log into it and has limited me to 25x access. The product key on the sticker on the bottom of my laptop does not work and toshiba have told me i have to purchase it at £135. I find this unbelievable really, A blog i am subscribed to has stated that you can go to open office which is an exact replica of microsoft office has anyone downloaded it before?

yes open office is the same thing as ms office
you might find issues when writing in open office and trying to read in ms office but that's not a rule

The sticker you have on your laptop is containing the key to activate Microsoft Windows Operative System or a trial key for Office. To have a genuine copy of Office you have to buy one, or go to Open Office that is free, very intuitive to use and very very similar to MS Office.

Yes, you just have a Trial Version of MS Office installed on your computer when you purchase it. You will need to buy a copy of office to get the Product Key, I havn't used open office but I have heard it is very similar software.

I highly doubt the number on the bottom of your laptop is a Microsoft key for Office or your OS. It would simply be your serial number, like on the back of your TV or DVD player.

Your Office key would be on the CD's box or sleeve.

Exactly, it is the serial number not a product key.

Microsoft doesn't provide any key for M.S. Office on the laptop. That must be a key for O.S.
