Damn... I'm going to have to act quick if I am to outbid them.

Do the owners of Yahoo! own a DP account? If so, $44.7 billion from me. PM me for details... PayPal/Moneybookers/Escrow only.

    :D

This is really good news for search market, One company was holding all the monopoly in search market. Well if this deal goes through, Microsoft will have 30-35% of search market. Well i never doubted boys from Redmond.
Now i wanna see some competition in Operating System market too, Steve Jobs go ahead and buy Red Hat Linux.

In search, Yahoo does have a decent share. Not as much as Google, but yes, a share all the same.

Yahoo is a portal- you've got games, mail, music, finance and numerous other features.

They also get del.icio.us and flickr.

More importantly, Microsoft can then concentrate all their might on displacing Google, although that will take some doing, Yahoo or no Yahoo.

Yahoo is the structure which is ranked #1 for the volume of traffic which it receives. This is based not only in search. There are thousands of services, products, and websites which are in the network. Yahoo is much more than a mere google which is based on the core of search traffic.

In fact google are trying to achieve what yahoo folks have done. I basically never visit yahoo, but know for sure that in order to survive in the hyper actively changing internet market, you gotto be really Diversified. Thats why google is buying out anything which can diversify their core business.

And for Microsoft....what better distribution channel than the Internet itself? What better option than buying the Strongest Internet network? They will for sure have a huge marginal effect on their sales volume.

Considering Yahoo had a revenue of $6.9 Billion last year, with a gross profit of $4.1 Billion, Your comments are an EPIC

I'm in doubt that this is a good buy. Hopefully, Microsoft knows what they're doing.

This is what I've been afraid of for so long, with MS acquiring Yahoo, we are left with only two big fish in the pond, competition slowly diminishes, thats really bad news for anyone in the market...

    What makes you think so?

I think Microsoft + Yahoo has quite some potential. It could actually work...

Yahoo has a history of creating their own content while every time Microsoft tried to do that they failed miserably, therefor the alliance with NBC, etc. This will definitely be interesting....
