Look at your link a little closer here is what it really says:

    Google lost .5%
    MSN gained .2%

Here is the information from your link (see below) and a link to a better evaluation of the data:

U.S. Core Search Share, January 2009 (Source: comScore qSearch)

    Google 63.0% -0.5% m/m +4.5% y.y
    Yahoo 21.0% +0.5% m/m -1.2% y/y
    Microsoft 8.5% +0.2% m/m -1.3% y/y
    AOL 3.9% -0.1% m/m -1.0& y/y
    Ask 3.7% -0.2% m/m -0.8% y/y

WebProNews article - January not good for Google, fine for Yahoo, Microsoft

    UH??

I know loads of people that run IE and yet still use Google. In fact i don't ANYONE that actually uses MSN.

Got any proof for saying that people using IE use MSN for their search?

Yes. It says for the month of January, Google lost 0.5%. But you are ignoring the title of the post, the thread, and, more importantly, the longer term view. Google gained almost 5% over 12 months.

Microsoft is old and slow. They have so many chances to dominate the web but didn't do it right. So don't feel sorry for them.

On the other hand, big G has grown too powerful. I wish there were other players who can compete big G's.

As consumers we'll benefit if there's more competition

I use IE7 on Vista Home, but always use google search. I only use Microsoft's search if I happen to be in their web site www.micorosoft.com.

Well that's because Microsoft is flagging people on club.live.com. more than 90% of the searches are probably from club.live.com and 99% of those searches are made by cheaters/botters/hackers who instead of playing bot game on clublive to get free stuff. these botter generate well over 10k of searches a day by botting their game but now that they flagging them these botter stop botting so they loss million of searches generate from botter. just a guess :D
