I was reading this article over on Engadget: The article reads: --- Microsoft has potentially just struck a gold mine here. This is going to be a huge hit or miss and in a big way. If every batter company wants a piece of the pie, they will all end up having to buy a license from Microsoft to create these new batteries. That means that Microsoft will be getting a pay check from major battery companies for every battery that they produce! If battery companies bite the bullet, it will work out for the companies and Microsoft...in a multi-billion dollar long term relationship. Why will it work? The world is dumb and lazy. Any short cut, including batteries that you CAN'T put in wrong, is appealing to the general world citizen. It will be interesting to see where this one ends up. Just thought I would share.
