    HTML 5 which is now beginning to be accepted by browser companies to implement in newer versions of their browsers in the future--recently Microsoft's IE team has begun reviewing HTML 5 specs and decided to join.

    This is good news for developers who may need to support IE in the future.

    Here's how Microsoft screws things up.

    Microsoft was co-chair of the W3C HTML5 group but never showed up for meetings and didn't return phone calls or email. After years of other browsers working on this, NOW they want to show up and voice their "opinions". Again, years later than where ALL other browser vendors have been.

    Microsoft will ALWAYS be behind the technology curve and a wrench thrown in the works of EVERY forward thinking method.

    Here's a comment from the Microsoft poster:
    You have to be kidding me! These people are NOW questioning these things that are being implemented world wide?! Where have they been for the last several years?!!

    Not only that but the explanations and tutorials are very clear why the new elements were introduced but this "Microsoft team" can't understand them?!

    I am disgusted with these....people.

    @FBZ: Wise words, friend.

    @drhowarddrfine: Microsoft's monopoly is nearing an end. They realize they cannot dominate industry standards like they used to in the 90s anymore.

    Why not? Sooner or later IE should join the main stream. I think today is a good turn point. :)

    The tech people on Hacker News and reddit are having a field day with this. It's obvious Microsoft is trying to destroy standards and have things manipulated their way but it's too late and nobody cares about them.

    Yeah, Microsoft is slowly falling (finally!).
    June 2008 - Microsoft Drops XP Support
    June 2008 - Bill Gates Resigns
    Even Bill Gates knew that Microsoft was done after they dropped XP support ;)
