Thanks for the share, I personally think that the court may be abusing its own power by charging Microsoft for somebody to investigate the allegations, chances are Microsoft know exactly what has been done and by whom and have more than enough evidence to prove it.

This is the problem western super-companies face when they try to work along side often lacking and less than efficient or ethical third world countries and their law's.

Wow, that's a poor excuse to throw out a case in my mind. I mean in the end piracy is piracy. Though it is greedy for microsoft to choose a court based on the maximum payout, I still believe the case should have been placed, however instead of allowing a cash settlement if microsoft had won, they should have just forced the accused to remove the software. Alas, it is a sad day when those in the right are unable to make a case. Still I would have expected a company as large as microsoft woudn't care so much about the money

Well Indian Courts and their Honorable Judges are the most respected and highly paid authorities across the country so they won't do anything for cash for sure!:)

They couldn`t find a proof, that those people were stealing software? What does that mean? I guess this means, that microsoft is not able to proof exactly what people do so why did they even "harass" those four people from India. They must have done something crazy bad???
    Cheers

    Interesting read mate.

    Personal thoughts:

Someone needs a lesson in Democracy and it's not Microsoft.

If Microsoft had done a similar thing in US, the outcome would have been the same.

You can't file a case in Texas for a crime that is committed in California.

The court has done the right thing.

If the stupid company doesn't even know the basic laws of the country, it deserves to be fined.

The court hasn't denied Microsoft the right to file a case, it has just told Microsoft to file the case in the correct jurisdiction.
