Yep, I agree with that. +1 for memory hog OS, tried on my pc installed with vista but switched back to xp. Presentations is good but performance, stability and usability is much important.
I was like this as well but sp1 made vista good now, I personally am running a beast computer and am using vista ultimate x64 with 8gb of ram something xp can't do (xp x64 is a joke)
there is no reason to for vista "if it ain't broken don't fix it!" guess bill gates and his team never learned that one... i hate vista and never will downgrade to it id rather use linux than downgrade...
My old lady just bought a new dell and paid 150.00 extra for it to have XP rather than have to put up with Vista.
The only 'slight' reason that Vista might be running better on that machine is because Vista lets you use the full 4GB RAM, XP only sees like 3.6GB RAM or something. But thats just speculation.
I have been using various versions of Vista which i have licenses for. But XP is the best in my view. Forever live Windows XP PRO ~ Mike
Nothing shocking. XP user are everywhere. Why they need to upgrade to Vista if XP can run fine on their system.

I second your opinion...Why does people have to change from a reliable, stable and long standing product? Vista is too resource heavy and I find XP to be delivering excellent result....Why kill my resources? Regards, RightMan
I will say XP is a evergreen OS . I can use it from next several months according to my needs and its qualities .
Vista is a nice operating system but it's also very resource demanding. Not everyone can afford a nice computer or upgrade their old technology. If XP was discontinued, I think Microsoft would be in a lot of trouble. However, I'm glad to hear that they're extending XP for the time being . I currently have 1 laptop running Vista and I'm loving it. However, my desktop is too old to be able to run Vista so I'm forced to run XP on that.
Seriously, this Vista bashing fad shouldn't be happening anymore. Vista has matured - give it a chance. I do have to say this though: "If your computer cannot handle Vista reliably - it is time for an upgrade." Windows 7 should be out next year, if they are on time.
