I want to lock the first row of my excel sheet and make something like this which Google Docs provides:

So basically it locks the first row and puts a sorting option under it, I want that. How do we make this in Excel?

The sort method in Excel works the same way. Simply select a table with header and press Alt H-S-O to sort from greatest to least.

You may also be looking to freeze panes. That's alt W-F-F.
