Microsoft.com with new look

i like the new look love how microsoft gives itself a new theme every few years

 

Takes a while to load, does not look good in FireFox. Seems to also lack content.

From a big company like Microsoft I would have expected better, at least some better optimised images.

 

Cool design. i like new design but i think ie7 logo too big.

I couldnt find the option "Could have been even worse!!" .
I hate the way MS makes websites with those weird techniques, frames, JS etc.
I preffer well organised html documments without those weird menus and stuff.
Just like live.com, it sucks.

It's all pretty much just gradients to be honest - And if you take a look at http://bouncy-bubbles.net

or some cute site like that: It is at least more...detailed and cute! I know Microsoft are a professional company but if they try to blend stuff in a bit more...I think it would be better.

Wow, I was beginning to think they would never change that site! I remember when I first started making sites years ago and wanted to make a site that looked like MS. I was downloading some files from there a couple of weeks ago and I thought "It looks exactly the same".

But really, it doesn't matter what their site looks like. It could be plain text with no color at all and people would still flock there by the millions. There would be a ton of graphic designers complaining about how ugly it looks (see above posts hehe) but if MS turned around and offered free copies of windows vista for a week, no one would care. Like MrPoloShirt said, they make software.

 

I like websites to look like websites, not pseudo-applications.

Personally i rather like it - although i think the old site had way too much information on it, hence it was overwhelming, now they have have redesigned it, it looks great but now there isn't enough information/links to lead you to other pages in my opinion. Its all a little bare and not enough textual content.

 

I am a fan of the new look and the use of javascript. The old microsoft was a too boring.

 

It's slower than before

 

Its look good to me.
