Microsoft buys Yahoo ?

I read in a local business newspaper that Microsoft is interested in buying Yahoo shares so that it can get a string hold of the online advertising market. Currently Google is the leader with 60%. If eventually Microsoft buys Yahoo the combined share would be 30%. Microsoft is looking to reduce the dominance of Google in this industry.

Though WSJ has now said the talks are off, I think it would be a good thing for both companies - neither one is exactly succeeding on the Internet. :p

It's not really a false rumor; the companies were talking about for real, but it never materialized.

I think it should materalize. As Microsoft is the only company that could pose a challenge to Google i prefer this acquisition.

Monopoly is never a good thing, it would have been better if Micrsoft just had developed their owen MSN search, instead of taking the fast lane and buying out the competition.

I read about it. Maybe Bill Gates don't know what should do with money. But that really I think good step Microsoft to will be danger for Google.

If Microsoft bought Yahoo, do you think Microsoft will use only Overture ads systems for both Yahoo & MSN instead of Adcenter ?
I hope Microsoft will doing this because this will make the competition between Google & Microsoft is very high and the only winner will be advertiser & publisher :p

    that's a great comment.
But Yahoo has rejected that it is FOR SALE. So Microsoft is looking for a joint venture.

I don't think so because as I said above this will make the competition between Google & Microsoft is very high and we as "Ads Publisher" will get more money!
