But i guess Yahoo should do more and they can .... at least their YPN should be available to worldwide publishers / advertisers this way they can generate more revenue and ultimately more growth to their site by making more investment into search technology......
Microsoft is done for. With Google being the Super Search engine and Apple becoming the more innovative and cooler looking computer systems there's not much room left for a crappy operating system..
Google will dominate for many years to come. There arent many people that are really familiar with search engines using MSN.
"If you duct tape 1,000,000 calculators together, do you get a supercomputer?" I think that's my favorite quote of the week.
from experience, Google images has sent the most visitors my way, followed by Yahoo Search (but now Google search is catching up), followed by Live Search I don't think I have submitted my site to MSN, haha
I totally agree with you, if google does do something to disgrace the internet they will fail. Google is very well known its everywhere, even in movies all you see if people googleing for information. It would be very very hard to catch up with them. But again you never know release something unique and you will get people coming to you.
I really hope that Microsoft will buy Yahoo! and pose a real challenge to Google. The Big G is becoming a bully and a strong competitor will keep it in check.
You neglect the fact that there will be a large number of decreased visitors if something buys something..
Fail. You get the same as 1M calculators. You still need the software to do it - it just does not happen. Connect a million computers together and show me what it can do - same as calculators - nothing. Now, start building processes with PVM or MPI - okay, you got something. The point is - raw compute power is not easily scalable - you need some intelligence behind it.
This post was to assume that MSN would retain all the trademarks they might absorb. The only thing that would remain the same across the board would be the search engine behind the names. For instance, AOL's search engine is "enhanced by Google" Comparison Shopping Engines have successfully done several of these types of acquisitions. Pricegrabber, Nextag and Shopzilla have all bought out other price comparison engines and retained the bought brand equity. After all, you wouldn't want to loose all that valuable traffic. Buying out brick & mortar companies is totally different from buying out websites, where name is EVERYTHING. And duct tape? DUCT TAPE? That would be the search engine powering MSN, Yahoo, AOL & Ask, right? That's how they'd be connected. And I suppose their brand recognition signifies their "calculator" similitude. That is a real hurdle. I think Google's greatest achievement has been their brand recognition, even more so than their search quality... that helped develop the brand. The fact that you can say "Googled", "Google it" means they own the verb "search."
i will be funny to i dont use live search and yahoo... hahhaha but think the big G is big... "If you duct tape 1,000,000 calculators together, do you get a supercomputer?" google it hahahaha...
From what I heard is that microsoft is going to bid $31 per share to yahoo’s board of directors to purchase the company, a deal potentially worth $45 billion!!
