Microsoft Buys Yahoo..A Pondering Primate 2007 Prediction

So I was off by 2 or 3 month for this prediction. Is it too little too late?

After reading Nicholas Carr's Big http://www.nicholasgcarr.com/bigswitch/ Switch, I wonder if Microsoft buying Yahoo is too little, too late. As more of the computing world goes and performs online, the PC becomes irrelevant.

Microsoft To Buy Yahoo For $44.6B http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601103&sid=aLsamJL6qUQY&refer=news

In an effort to take on Google, Microsoft buys Yahoo.

For $44B, what should Microsoft have bought instead?

Major missinformation here. Microsoft has formally announced that they are not pursuing Yahoo! any more. The only conceivable way is that board overthrow that CNet is talking about.

Smart move by Microsoft ! Yahoo thinks they are worth more than what MS has offered, which is much higher than Yahoo market price.
MS will just wait for Yahoo shares to drop and later buy them at a much cheaper price, smart !

I don't think Microsoft will buy Yahoo. It's not like yahoo doesn't have lots of money. so what do you need more? how much houses cand you build or how much cars can you buy. I think it's about principle. Yahoo owner build something so it will be hard for him to sell yahoo. anyway this is my guess

True. and I think M$ is better off diversifying out of the SE biz. They already own MSN

Yahoo should have accepted the offer from microsoft since it gives a better opportunity to compete with google.

wrong move again from yahoo. They should have bought google long time ago when they had the chance. They should have bought what google bought, when they had the oppurtunity. oh well. :)
