    Well Microsoft can buy anything, they got the money, but I think it's a stupid investment.... normal search engines can give similar if not the same results.

    well its a hard question for me to answer. I know google has taken over everyone as far as search is concerned and is day by day getting popular. Microsoft is just following google. I feel it will be hard for microsoft unless it stops following google and creates something unique on search world

    Actually, Search engines do not index a great part of the web dealing with industry research papers - in particular academic sites. All the .edu stuff you see are only the tip of the iceberg. In this case, Microsoft has managed to get an engine which specifically targetted the medical sector and which has a great database as well as a medical targetted audience. As such, it is actually a good buy.
