Lately there are rumors and speculations that Microsoft is in the works for buying eBay, this is big business and if they do manage to do that they are going to have a better chance on taken over Google. My question for does who know about the topic is could this really go from being a rumor to being a fact?

eBay is a $47 Billion company. plus any acquisition rumors would drive the stock price further. while msft could do it, i'm not clear on how the merger of these two disparate businesses would effectively compete with google.

    Wont happen!

If it did, Google would drop Ebay's advertising and Base would take over.

Microsoft has bigger fish to fry. Besides, its much more their style to create an alternative and leverage their assets (i.e. Windows) to favor the alternative.

Here is another article i found about the Microsoft and Ebay deal here. To tell you the truth Microsoft is losing there popularity and they are geting desperate to find a solution just look at Msn search, is not getting any better its getting worse, Firefox is getting more and more popular and even if IE is still the most dominate there are losing a lot of people beacuse of Firefox and Opera, and it won't surprize me if Microsoft does such a drastic move like doing a big deal with Ebay. Lets face it Microsoft is not what it use to be.
