What you guys think about Microsoft BrowseRank. DO you think It can give Google's PageRank a stiff challenge. On paper BrowseRank looks much better than pagerank
There's stuff about it here: http://www.seobook.com/microsoft-search-browserank-research-reviewed It's only in research phase at the moment
I don't think it's anything new tbh, just some piece of insight we were not told about clearly. Once I read there are about 2,400 ranking factors, this could be 1 of those, hehe
I hope it does become the standard to judge a website's worth and replaces the "Google Pagerank" system which has become highly unstable now
Anything setup by Microsoft can't be the industry standard, until they step up some serious challenge to Google. Pagerank does not show a website's worth anyway ... it's just us who give it importance.
There is a search engine cuil.com which uses almost same technology as Microsoft is gonna use. Unfortunately Google and Yahoo has decided to take on it to keep their Monopoly on the market
Microsoft BrowseRank is in Testing Process but you can try using Cuil.com which is using same technology as BrowseRank. To get better Rank in Microsoft Search Engine your website should be user friendly with very good content, MIcrosoft will determine the Ranking on the basis of Traffic and the average time user spends on your website. Also loading speed of your pages and many things including backlinks will be taken in consideration.
I think its kind of like generic brand soda: a ripoff, cheap, and crap. Microsoft shouldn't even bother.
Browserank (or you can give it any other name you want) is no new technique. Ranking algorithms take in consideration thousands of factors including what you are calling here as 'browserank'. This won't change a thing, all search engines take in consideration these factors and many others already
