Hi!! My name is Jean. I would like to pursue IT as a second career. I am very interested in Microsoft and Cisco courses. Which certifications are recommended for a beginner like me? Can anyone suggest me a good institute where I can successfully undertake these courses. I intend to take 2-3 months off for this.

    Hi Jean,

If you choose MCSE or CCNA any of the two courses, both are renowned courses & institutes/classes takes a heafty amount for this type of courses. I'll suggest you to first check the books of the above courses & if you feel that you can score the passing percent i.e 85% than you can go online & fill up the form & prepare for the examination. All the information regarding circular of the online examination will be given by the official sites & you can give online exams after your preparation. This will save your money & time as well.

MCSE is a good for a beginner. It will surely help you in gaining enough knowledge about computers, networking and other IT related things. CCNA is for Cisco and its also considered to be good for beginners. I wish you all the best for the exams :)

Depends upon your interest if you have interest in pure networking you can go for CCNA. If you are good at programming you can go for MCSE. Both are very well valued . None of them is more or less . Just depends on your side of interest . Do go through the syllabus because higher percentage are always in demand. Look which one you are comfortable with then go head . All the best

It depends on your specialization or your interests in IT. Cisco courses are more networking related and you'd have to make your way up the ladder to get to the highest certification. MCSE on the other hand is centered on programming. Decide on which route you want to pursue first.
