Microsoft Adcenter Affilate program to stop

here is what i received in e-mail today


"Thank you for your participation in the adCenter Affiliate program. Unfortunately, the adCenter offer will no longer be available after February 29th, 2008.

Any banner or text ads that you currently have placed and are receiving traffic will still be eligible for payout through February 29th. However, any traffic after this date will no longer be eligible for the coupon or commission payout. As of today, February 20th, no new marketing material will be available to current affiliates and new affiliates will not be able to sign up for the offer.

Final commission payout for any activity through the end of February will be processed and paid out in the month of March as usual. Please be sure to remove all marketing materials associated with this offer from placement by February 29th as you will no longer receive credit for this activity.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but hope that you will take advantage of other offers available within the Microsoft Affiliate Network including Windows Live OneCare and Windows Live Toolbar. You can find more information about these programs by logging into the Affiliate Account Center and selecting Offers from the left-hand side navigation.

yes they are sending this email to all their affiliates....

thats really bad news... also some big problems with payment of previous commissions well

I've not used them, shame really as they have not lasted that long at all.

 

even now i have not received the payment check ... shame on them

 

i never got mine either. Im going to raise hell If I do not hear something or see something soon.

 

Too bad... They can't really handle the program anymore.

 

it's sad to see it go. Google is saturated and yahoo's program has it's issues. I thought the MSN program would have done well ... but I guess not!

 

I helped launch this affiliate program, so was as surprised as anyone to see them end it so soon after it started.
They had their reasons, as any company does. I posted the announcement on my blog to let everyone know.

I have not heard about any non-payment issues and am certain I would have if it was a wide-spread problem,
since I had an AdCenter Affiliate Program support forum.

I'm sure payments will be sent, but I don't really have any leverage on that side of things.
Have you contacted your affiliate manager about it?

 

That's too bad. I hope you all get paid what you earned.

 

It does suck but ah well.

Maybe after this whole Ms buying Y! thing. Never know.
