Microsoft OneCare Anti virus suite was stopped long back and MSFT was working on a new AV solution code-named Morro. Microsoft has stated that Morro would be available by the end of 2009 to comply. The product is a beach in Brazil by the name Morro. Morro is a free anti-virus from Microsoft that compete with the low side of the anti-virus products. NeoWin has screenshots of Anti virus Morro from a single build tested by Microsoft employees. But it will not be the first time for Microsoft to work on a Windows-based solution, but we certainly hope that Microsoft is doing well this time. Previously, Microsoft has provided security solutions such as Windows Defender and Live OneCare for Windows users, but not to a competing standard. Experts say that Microsoft’s free product is a stripped down version of the OneCare product from Microsoft and for the low end. From the screenshots available now looks like a simple product with UI in line with Windows 7. The user interface is very simple and easy to use. This will not only assist the consumer in terms of choice, but will also save from paying extra money to 3rd part as security Morro will be totally free. So, we will have to wait and see what all the functions Morro has to offer to beat the competition.
Looks like your just posting stories from this site? http://www.pcwebmag.com/2009/06/17/microsofts-new-free-antivirus-morro/
Yeah i have heard about MS Morro. It will be released by the end of 2009. I am not really sure if i would change my Kaspersky with that new one.
Same here. Kaspersky is still the best Anti-Virus. So with Bit-Defender. I would never risk my PC with other anti-virus i haven't trusted. For many years I've been using Kaspersky. I know how reliable Kaspersky is and i am very satisfied on how it cleans my viruses.
First of all the name of the antivirus has been changed to Microsoft Security Essentials and next it would be available tomorrow for public beta.. and above all it's free not paid like AVG or Kaspersky
