As the title said, can anyone tell me their experience regarding their best performance niche site? I want to know how many ads should be placed per page without looking like a spam ads site.

if you want your site to not have many ads, then simply use a 336x280 ad unit within the content, but still above the page fold. That way you'll have the best ads only. Your CTR (and RPM) might probably be less than if you had 3 ad units, 3 link units and 2 adsense for search boxes, but still it will give you SOME money, so if that's enough for you, you can stay with your own self-inflicted limitations
i find two 336 228 boxs and 1 skyscaper the best,the 728x15 are a waste of time a user has to click them twice
you could also use push down images to push your ads below the fold this comes standard in ctr theme for wordpress
On my best performing niche site I had 3 ad units (the boxes), and 1 link unit. I had a 300 x 250 (or whatever, kind of forget the exact measurements) floating to the left of the content so the box was right in your face. Then I had two sky scraper ads in the column on the left side of the page. That site always gets clicks. Most of my sites do though, that's the layout I've found that performs the best. Oh yeah, and the link ad is right under the header banner, although this is aggressive advertising it's still okay.
