yeah, it is really annoying finding sites that are of no use and completely lacks useable content. All you see are gibberish and keywords
Making money from parked domains is easy if you pick up the right domains. Type in domains are the best for domain parking. There's really no set way to "monetize" a domain traditionally, but there are ways to optimize them. It depends on where you park your domains. Parking domains with GoDaddy is like trying to talk to a deaf person. Domain Parking Parked Domain Getting Traffic But No Clicks! Make Sure You Park Domains If you still need more information, feel free to let me know.
You can only make money from parking IF you have a good domain getting good traffic (the best is type in). BUT A lot of people are selling domains with junk traffic, that is questionable where they are coming from, and calling them type in traffic/super traffic domain etc.. 90% of "traffic domains" for sale have questionable traffic sources which can get you banned from your parking provider, or else they hardly convert. And they can dry up suddenly down the line...months later. So, be veeery careful. Just a friendly warning. PS: And as for parked pages, they are still better than MFA sites. At least they don't copy.
yes, it truly hacks me off when i find a niche and look for a domain name, only to find it parked, then try a variation and hey presto the exact same ads and text. i hate domain hogs that go and buy up 200 variations of the same niche and fill them all with parked pages. then john doe comes along with a dream to make their site and its thrashed straight away, and they have to choose a name like www.i-could-not-find-the-domain-i-wanted.com
Well let me ask you a question, are you prepared to spend money for a domain? Forget the old days or fairy tale stories of starting with an $8 domain and earning thousands one year later. Unless you belong in the 0.00001 percent. You have to spend money to make money. I'm sorry to say that. Actually, many of these parked domains are for sale, and some are pretty cheap, did you know that? Of course, more expensive than $8.... but they dont even cost hundreds in many cases. The mindset needs to be adjusted, the internet IS getting saturated. And costs have risen, and WILL continue to rise in many ways. If you're not willing to spend money, than it either means: 1) You're underaged 2) You're really stingy 3) You're not serious enough, therefore your "business" cannot be called a business, because you dont have the proper mindset. I myself have spent thousands of dollars on my online business, mind you. That shows how serious I am. If I have to buy a domain, I will. That's why I said, parked domains are not really bad. Because at least they don't copy others. They are just generic pages. And yet I wonder why when I post in forums advertising my domains for sale, and many are pretty good, hey, no one could be bothered. They rather go register a crap domain. To me, it says a lot of things.... about the 90% of so called "internet marketers"...... I rest my case
Ya me too. I also hate when McDonalds buys good real estate that I was going to put a gas station on. Or when some jerk goes to Home Depot and buys the last tree that I was going to buy. Since I was planning on buying it, he should have known that and canceled his order. GOSH!
I'm not the only one, thank gosh for that. If you search for all threads by me in the domain section, you will see some 200-300 odd and most of these domains are 8-10 year old domains, alot Yahoo, DMOZ listed and 2 dictionary word .com's. For $35-$45 these things are cheap, yet i still get lowballed with $11 offers. These people tend to be the one's who earn pennies a day on Adsense and don't know why. One domain recently with 8YO PR3 and Yahoo Directory listed fell off the page at $40, so i uploaded Article Dashboard, auto fed it with articles and a month later it's earning $15-$30 per day on Adsense ($30.36 was it's best day). People fail to see opportunities, $45 and 2 hours of setting it up and it's earnt $168.43 Reviewz couldn't of said it better, if your not willing to spend a few bucks you are going to find it difficult to make a few bucks.
domainers are the ones that own these parked pages. I used to work for one based out of Houston, they own about 400,000 domain names (name of company: IREIT) . When I first started working for the company they were generating over 75,000 USD per day on parked domain names. They own a lot of mis spelled domain names that people accidentaly get to and hope they click on a link and load a pop up. These guys are pretty annoying, they own all the good names, from bands.com, to consultants.com, to even ebuy.com. To bad these guys bought up all the good names, and left us, the actual web developers to work on the crapy domains.
LOL...this was a funny read. Welcome to the world of domaining. Why didn't you just email the previous owner before it expired & make him an offer for the name instead of waiting for it to expire & go to auction? What's stopping the actual web developers from buying the good names from them like bands.com & developing that??? Or even branding your name, do you think Google.com & Yahoo.com were great names until they were branded?
For me, going to someone else's site who has a domain I wanted and finding it parked or otherwise empty of content is GOOD NEWS!! Why? Because a website using a similar domain, (maybe a .net or .org or slightly different wording) can be created with great content and I don't have to worry about that other domain competing with me! Hurray for those folks who let their domains lay dormant.
