Wow, we've lost a great talent. Link to Yahoo News http://in.news.yahoo.com/43/20100227/812/tnl-m-f-husain-to-accept-qatar-citizensh.html You think its all going in right direction
Wow. just. wow. How can there even be a legal charge of "hurting sentiments." Lawsuits for drawing nude gods and goddesses? LOL. "In February 2006, Husain was charged with hurting sentiments of people because of his nude portraits of Hindu g-ds and goddesses." Souce: Wiki A 95 year old artist that feels as though he must leave his country for drawing nude deities. I think they should allow nude depictions of Hindu deities, muhammad, flying spaghetti monster, perhaps even all together in one picture. What a shame.
Will M F Hussain will dare to paint a Nude Mohammad in QATAR? Useless people like MF Hussain misuse their rights in Non-Muslim countries.
can anybody show me, the pictures that troublesome? try to googled but can really find "the pictures", many pictures but i don't think that offended. and you are fit?
i not seen those pics. but we can wait and expect his upcoming pictures on nude allah , mohammad pictures soon
how can i comments until i see the pictures? i goggled and see many of his painting, can't guess which one is hurting hindus. is this the picture?
If you're going to be posting nude pics of hindu deities on DP, please don't cry when they start posting nude pics of Mo...
you know, my question is really honest... i just want to know what kind of picture that he draw that taking much attention. we all know what salman rusdie wrote, there are plenty in the web... but what about the picture... can some one give me the picture, or just the link of the picture? the picture i posted, i don't see any problem with that, it seem he want to draw mother of india...
There were a few google them and you will find a few, a really stupid thing to do considering he himself is a muslim and won't paint nude portraits of Muslim Gods and Prophets, don't know where his artistic interpretation goes then? It was a deliberate attempt to hurt Hindu feeling, a very cheap one as well
i can't understand what is jai hind mean, tried google without any luck. but as i recall, muslim also take part of independent of india from english, not only hindu. learn about your own history, maybe you will learn respect.
you not mentioning what salman rusdie wrote may be you have the respect showing your mother land in naked way but some guys may not like that in your country too. just try with your site if you really interested to know. that was the thing abt that cheap artist . its used for sayin love country than a religion. he not told any thing abt muslim funny you telling you dont know what jai hind means but giving an advice respect means what giving fatwa or killing ?
Really? Your statement that "it seem he want to draw mother of india" is all just a wild coincidence? Even after your extensive searching on the Internet, you just didn't know, and was unable to figure out the offending picture was the Mother of India. So of course, you were simply compelled to post it in this thread so that all the Hindu's outraged by this picture could see it once more. Right. Personally, I don't have a problem with this artist. To me, the best art is what makes us feel something. Yet, there are people here that seem to be insulted that the Hindu deity was depicted nude, yet you don't see any problem with that. Therefore, I would take it that you feel it's ok if mo is depicted in that way as well?
i still understand why most hindus offended by that pictures, i saw many nude pictures of hindu god or goddesses. i think the really problem is was that the artist is a muslim
"You still understand why most hindus offended by that pictures" or "You still don't understand why most hindus offended by that pictures" In case you're insinuating it, muslims are in no way victims in this case. If the artist was a hindu in a predominantly muslim country, chances are good that he wouldn't be leaving voluntarily. They would probably throw him in jail for blasphemy, and perhaps even kill him. The link you provided above says there should be artistic freedom, I agree. Reading over the article though, it sounds like he believes it should be a one way street. It's not convincing. This seems to be the rule, it's not artistic freedom to draw nude pics of mo, but it is artistic freedom to draw nude pics of hindu deities. It just doesn't work that way.
that's good funny there is no muslim argument here but you still thinking about artists religion well we cant blame
