Mexicans Boycott Begins Today

So, did you guys feel it in your corner of the world? Today many Mexican immigrants skipped work and school in order to march to protest the impending Immigration Laws. Living in Houston, where there's a massive Hispanic population, I didn't notice any difference.

This might backfire, especially if the news shows enough pictures like these:

And here I thought they wanted to be Americans. ;)

Interestingly, Canada is taking advantage of the vast pool of qualified labor in Mexico by entering into contracts with them to work in our oil fields. Of course, we face a critical labor shortage creating by a conservative immigration policy, and a momentarily red hot economy.

Why don't they pick a flag and stick to it? Every picture they seem to be undecided about what flag to use, let alone cultural identity.

I must say, today WAS LOVELY.

    NO traffic.
    NO long lines.
NO hearing people speaking spanish everywhere I went.
NO seeing those obnoxious flags everywhere.
(t shirts, bumper stickers, rear view mirrors, etc.)

I must say, if they did this once per week, it would really brighten my weeks.
This should become a national holiday, one day a year they all just go away.

When I went to India I didn't see a SINGLE flag outside of the Indian flag. It could have been due to the lack of any foreigners though. But still it would be nice to see less foreign flags flying here in America.

They don't want to be americans. They want to take what americans HAVE. They want to use our social services like hospitals and schools, take our jobs and break our laws.

By the way, the protests have backfired. ESPECIALLY in services industries, I know multiple friends who couldn't find a job, but now found jobs as waitresses and in retail due to the boycotts. :D

Atleast 10% of the protestors are expected to lose their jobs. Which of course will lead to more protests, possibly riots.

THEY ARE NOT GOING TO GET AMNESTY! I think when they realize that, it will get violent, and we'll have a martial-law like situation. In LA in '93 there were less than 100,000 rioters and we brought in the US Army. There are millions now protesting. All it takes is an accidentally killed mexican, or a killed cop.

In tucson, when they arrested illegals at the protests for crimes, their "buddies" jumped the cops, injuring 4 cops. If a cop dies in a similar fashion there WILL be a backlash, and the mexicans are saying "Hell no, we won't go".

Oh and the National Socialist Movement, which has grown dramatically in recent months, is creating a counter-protest May 4th in Chicago, that's gonna be confrontational.

Expect a forecast of riot and bloodshed in your near future, with a chance of martial law.

To deal with this problem properly would earn lots of good reps for America. To kill the problem, as so many desire, doesn't help.

Mexico is a neighbour of the USA. So, "love your neigbour as you love yourselves" and act accordingly.

It's funny when the US is finger pointing to Europe and can't even handle one neigbour itself.

Why do so many many Mexicans don't want to be integrated? Well, look at the decades of bashings.

Um, if "so many many Mexicans don't want to be integrated" because the Big Bad Americans keep "bashing" them, then why are they protesting so hard to stay here?

Please explain, Arnie. My poor American brain fails to comprehend your stunning logic!

They want to earn a living. That's it for most of them.
There's a demand of cheap labour in the US and therfore all togehter became an abusive system. It's not to blame them.

It was always a calculation/speculation to keep the ilegal status for them.
Or otherwise how can millions of ilegal immigrants can be for so long undedected?

If they all would or could integrate then cheap labour would be not in sight too.

Then I fail to see how we are "abusing" them. They come here willing to work on their own free will and we hire them and give their children free education. Who is abusing whom?
