methods we use successfully to get links

OK, lets see which methods do we use to get links to our sites.

It seems you can reply faster than I could set up the poll

 

So far it seems that mostly people here uses links from directories&forum signatures, manual link exchange and links from their sites and from their friends.

I've noticed that I forget to mention some spamming techniques like blog spam... Maybe next time, sorry...

 

To me, providing useful tools for free usage is the best way to get incoming links

 

That's exactly what I'm doing. But I must admit I'm not satisfied with number of links I get each week.

 

I do mostly directory submissions/forum sigs, and manual link exchanges..but I do also link to each of my site's from each other..

 

I've submitted my vote.

Most of the time, I've experienced that your popularity on any particular forum provides you too many links.

If a site has high PR, I don't hesitate to invest for links from that particular site though.

 

is there any value on having or buying someone signature in this forums? I still like creating articles and submitting them to theme directories

 

KC TAN, how do I create an interesting tool any web master would love to have, use or download? do you know of any company that will develop this for me?

I'm not a fan of spending money for advertising, so I usually just get friends to link for me. Sometimes affiliate sites work well, especially if I am a personal friend or acquaintance of the owner. I also add select links to my signatures and own sites, etc.

 

I have some tools I've developed, but IMHO it don't generate many links nowadays since there are a lot of different tools. And I don't have much traffic on that site.
