Well, hopefully you mean that in a relative sense.. I mean, is adhering to certain social values and mores to be considered the "Dark Ages" or just a fight to maintain a, for them, safe and sane moral community?
Yes, I mean their unwillingness to beome more modern. I think their conservative values in every other respect is much to commend. They are a community where crime and anti-social behavior is very low compared to other comunities in the US.
