    I need some advice. I update my website almost daily and was wondering if its important to have the following metatags

    <meta name="revisit-after" content="2 days">
    <meta name="robots" content="all">
    <meta name="robots" content="index,follow">

    Do these tags help?

    No. They don't help at all.

    <meta name="revisit-after" content="2 days">
    Code (markup):
    is ignored.

    <meta name="robots" content="all">
    <meta name="robots" content="index,follow">
    Code (markup):
    says, "Spiders? You listening? Please do what you do normally, exactly what you were going o do before you stopped to read these tags. Thanks."

    The only time you need those is if you want to RESTRICT or PREVENT spidering.

    Many thanks Minstrel.

    Just out of interest, how often does a search engine spider your website and picks up new info that has been added?

    There's no way to predict that, but the more 'active' links you have to your pages, the more frequently they will be spidered. By active, I mean links that are on frequently spidered pages themselves.

    Changing your content frequently may increase spider frequency too.

    Websites with a high Page rank are spidered regularly. You can expect a PR 5 website to be visitied daily by GoogleBot, especially if it is updated daily. Websites regularly updated and with a high PR can be spidered multiple times a day.

    PR gives an indication of how important Google things of your webpage. So the high the PR, the more frequent and regular spider visits will be.
