Man, I can't believe that you need 25 posts to post in some forums. Would anyone run thier own metasearch engine with the option of incorporating PPC, premium listings, sponsor boxes, banners (1 per keyword) and run their own xml feed with it? Let's face it. If you know enogh about the metasearch engines, and how much revenue they create, then I am sure you would. When jux2 was for sale on ebay, that is all that anybody had to talk about, and who has ever used it? I personally don't like the engine other than the fact that it has a nice clean userface, and it's pretty fast. It was not worth $101,000. Especially since I am creating one right now, with more fuctions, more search engines, and a wayyyyyyy better design for no where near that. Admins, if you must erase this because it is not in the proper section. ( or at least I cannot post their yet anyway) Then so be it. I am trying to find legit business partners that want to embark on a very profitable journey. I have many plans for this network that I am creating. Investment would be minimal. The complete start up cost would be as follows: 1 year of dedicated server- $1000-$1200 The script with all necessary functions - $1000 That is all we need to get started. I am going to share the costs, and I am willing to bring on a few partners, with equal shares. NP. Once this network grows, there will be opportunity to branch off for sure. I am just a normal person. I am not a corporation trying to reel people in to a doomed investment. This is my dream. To run a network like dogpile and infospace. Those guys make some pretty serious money. Of course there will be toolbars to market, as well as many other ideas that I have. The userface is complete, for viewing. It is not hosted yet though. I am basically doing the body work on my hot rod until I put the supercharged, nitrous injected, turbo, jet engine in it. Seriously. For everyone that wished they had the money to buy jux2 when it was for sale. Now is your chance to really do something about it. John Brothers powergorilla@comcast.net Only serious ppl need to contact me.Thanks.
What part of the FAQ of this site did you not understand? Just because you don't like a rule doesn't mean you can work around it by posting your ad/offer in another forum. Why must you have 25 posts to Buy/Sell? How about because with just one post under your belt no one knows you. You have never contributed anything to this forum before, so why should they allow you to advertise here. Also, o one here has ever done business with you here. You may be unethical or do crappy work.
I do apologize for this. I knew what I was doing, but I meant no disrespect. I am not selling anything. I am only looking for serious business partners. I have been scouring the web, when I am not deeply engaged in my research for my goal, and am very tired. I need to desperately share this workload. So if anyone has taken offense by my actions, then please accept my apology. For the post above mine that made a reference to the possibility of crappy work, I can assure you that is not by sharing with you what I have thus far. I am just offering a way for some dedicated people to enjoy in my spoils that are sure to come. That is all. For future reference, remember the url: http://www.powergorilla.com I have a very rough directory script in place there for the time being while I finish this search engine. It is on shared hosting right now, and that will change. This was only a way to get my domain registered, and build the script before transfering to a dedicated server, then ultimately a 4 server cluster. I am not spamming by listing my domain here. I am only letting people aware that this site will be big, and that they should have got in when they had the chance.
Well, if you are for real I'd like to check it out. I'm not gonna invest (just not interested), but keep us posted as to how it goes. And as for gettting partners. . .no one knows you. . .so contribute a little more. Skinny
Cool, thanks for the interest. I can understand about the not wanting to invest. There is too many scammers and lamers out there. This is some of what I found out so far on this market. There is a website dedicated to serach engine reviews. Most of the meta engines that are listed on there are garbage. The only good ones are from infospace. To get a co branded infospace search engine would set you back at least $5000.00 They do have alot to offer, but the downside is that all the results are parsed on a domain owned by them, so infact you are paying just to have the same look and feel of your site, their results, and their domain. Not fair if you ask me. What I propose is that all results from different search engines are parsed, and placed on my domain name. As long as your sources are good, your results will be good. Basically you are cutting out the middle man, and shooting straight for the top guy. Benefits: Speed of results, more options, flexibilty This will allow you to do yellow page searches, white page searches, maps, and I am even trying to implicate some kind of sattelite imagery. The shopping search will eventually be a clone of pricegrabber or such. The user will be given the option to search our own auction, or search the number products from merchants. The merchants pay for their listing by a PPC method. Anytime a user sees a product they like, and they click on the merchants listing, it charges the merchants account whatever the listing price is. Now that is fundemental for anyone that is familliar with PPC. PPC is a very good revenue builder. All the price comparison search engines use it. Static listings will also be used. Example 1 sponsor box for 1 month is X amount of $$ What I am trying to create here is a one stop shop for the internets most used functions. Why go to 10 different places when you can go to one. My search engine will let you do a web search from 9 different major search engines. It has all the functioning of all the major players that bring in hundreds of millions a year. This search engine will grow from shared hosting which handles about 3 thousand users a day, to a dedicated server that handles much more, and performs way better, to a cluster of 4 or more servers that is optimal for high traffic and speed. All in all, if I must embark on this journey myself, then that is what I will do. Then when I am a large corporation, I am sure that I will step on the small fish as it is always done. This market is so hot right now, and why? No one is talking about it. People think that to run a site like googles, that trades for over $400 a share, that you need serious capital. That is not the case. Googles biggest revenue is their search engine. That is how everyone knows them. Look at what Yahoo has done. Yahoo constantly opens up more and more sites. They just started as an intenet directory. Try to find some different search engines on the net, and check them out. alot of them suck, for real. If you owned, or was a partner to one that gets high traffic, all the extra sites that you created would get the best advertisement because you could use your own highly used search engine to market the site. It works in complete unison. Brick and mortar. Skinny, as far as checking it out. I am still in the process of building everything. I do have some ideas on the userface, and how I want the look of the overall site if you want me to show you. I also can tell you where an actual demo of this script is located for you to try it out. The demo is "bare bones" meaning that it is not set up for the looks of it. It has to be customized. Anyone that has ever bought this script has no where near unlocked its full potential. But yet they are still making money. The developers of this script will work side by side you to implement everything that you want. It does cost money for custom work, so either these people that bought the script have no money, or no ideas. Whatever the case may be, I find it foolish either way.
I would be interested in looking at this. Do you have a business plan and support systems or is this just a spider and some servers?
I am not willing to invest any money but I can help with the programming. IF you are interested, let me know.
Making it into goo - What is the URL for the search engine you bought? I looked at Taggly (from your signature) thinking that was it, but everytime I try to search for something or click on a subpage (like About Us) I just get this error - No input file specified. Just wondering as I am always interested in alternative search engines (I had high hopes for Surch)
Badlands - I haven't bookmarked it on my taggly list as it is still being developed. Will PM the URL. The SE in itself is promising, with publisher and PPC platforms, and I made good enhancements such as simultaneous image search, but there are many things that need fixing from the original... Unfortunately, Powergorilla was not telling everything that needed to be known, so the process has been slow.
I have built a search engine and also sold it for $x,xxx Which runs on shared server. Because that one doesn't goes on and on like goooooooooooogle
