Meta Title

The only people ahead of me on google for my keyword have the keyword in there title tags many times. I heard only once with good density is good.

Would it be a good idea to put the keyword in the title and the description more than once for the search engines?

I did make one change and took out two or three words out of the meta description to give my keyword more density and I dropped a whole page.

Make a good readable title about the content that's on the page i.e.

Blue Widget supplies - reseller of cheap blue widgets online

With something like this you are getting more keyphrases for the term blue widget i.e. Blue Widget supplies, reseller of cheap blue widgets, cheap blue widgets, blue widgets online etc

If your competitors are stuffing their titles then its likely they are ranking for different reasons rather than the title such as age of site, incoming links, content etc etc.

Your meta description doesn't make a difference in ranking. It does show up the search results though so your targeted audience will see it.

I don't think it matters as long as you don't repeat it more than twice or three times.

Meta title tags are what user will seeing at the top of the browser window and as in the search results. Title tags help search engines determine your web page's relevancy for certain keyword phrases....

I checked my site through the link that Camay123 put and results are:

For title: Title is too long.
This tag contain 92 characters. This is too many for what we would consider a 'robot friendly' web page. The maximum number of characters we recommend for this tag is 80.

KW: Keywords meta tag contains too many keywords.
This tag contains 28 keywords. This is too many for what we would consider a 'robot friendly' keywords tag. The maximum number of keywords we recommend for this tag is 20.

So, should I really reduce to 80 chars for title, and 20 keywords for KW or thats something like ''theirs suggestion'' only?
