What is the reason for using delinators? See below: Heritage Cadillac | New and Used Cadillac Dealers | Chicago Cadillac Dealerships | Illinois As opposed to a nice sentence like this: Tustin Cadillac located in Tustin has a large inventory of Cadillac cars and SUVs serving Tustin and Anaheim Is the a better way of optimizing the meta title?
I disagree...it is not just about making it cleaner. I think Google only counts the first 70 characters of a title...the rest gets cut off in search results anyway. They also look at keyword density in the title. If you are adding useless words like 'located' and 'inventory' you are wasting space and diluting your other keywords. Essentially you would be making it tougher for search engines to know exactly what your page is about. I personally I don't like too many delinators though. It does make it look spammy. I like to just use 2 phrases divided by a dash or |.
You also want to avoid using stop words in meta tags like: "of", "a", "it". Spiders don't like those, just focus on using your keywords in a clean and organized fashion like your first example.
If you want to use a nice sentence for SEO then use it in the Meta Description. You have only 70 characters to place every keyword/phrase in the <title>.
With first way of writing titles, you avoid the stop words and Yes | is a stop word. It gets completely ignored by Google.
