Hi everyone. I have several different sections to my personal website. One section is about video games, another about TV shows. Should I use one set of meta tags that contains keywords for both video games and TV shows, and use them for the entire site? Or, should I use meta tags with keywords for video games on the video game pages only, and TV show tags on the TV show section only? Will different meta tags in use on the same website make a difference to search engines?
Page. Always set your meta tags for the page they are on. You can also include some keywords about the site itself but only a few. You really need to make them relevant to the page content.
Yes, different meta tag for each page is the best way to get well indexed. Only Title and Description are necessary if u want to be in the GG index. the Keyword meta is optionnal, because Google doesn't recognize it. Would be too easy to put relevant keywords with no sense uh?
There are more search engines than just Google. Yahoo and MSN recognise META NAME = keywords, so that should be included as well.
