I read that if on you meta keywords tag, you leave out the commas, the SE will link any of the words togethers to match a persons search. What do you guys think of that?

Meta Keywords really make hardly any difference worth noting. But it could be right. Personally I prefer to enter the keywords I am specifically targeting just for the sake of it.

But its not going to make any earth shattering differences in your site rankings.

Brad is right. I don't know any major search engine that still uses the meta-keywords tag. It was abused so much in the past that most search engines ignore it now.

    Where did you read that?

I add the keyword meta data just in case...And i dont use the commas. The commas seem too limiting to me. And i try to only add keywords that are actually on the page.

Not later than a few weeks ago I specially left a typo in one of my keywords in the meta keywords tag. It is spelled correctly everywhere else.
My site was 2nd in Yahoo on that misspelled keyword yesterday when I tested it. Go figure.

META keyword tags do still have a place, albeit of significantly reduced importance, in the code of websites. Yahoo takes them into account more than Google and they are helpful when aiming for typos.

I thought the keyword meta was more or less ignored these days? Maybe I'll do a test with a misspelled keyword.
