Meta tag rules???

aloha everyone,

in measurement of characters, does anyone know how long the meta description/keywords is allowed to be??

or rather how long would you recommend to have them??

I have not heard of a maximum length to make your meta tags, but, there are some very good guidelines to creating your sites here:

for meta tags

Title tags : it is advisable to use max 8-10 words

des tag : it is advisable to use 20 - 25 words

keyword tag : it is advisable to use 15-20 keywords

alt tag: it is advisable to use keywords according to your image size.if your image is large than u can add more words in alt tag.

 

Between 20 -30 is my preferred number of words for both descripion and keywords!

 

I would have to agree. The more you do, the messier it gets.
