Meta tag keywords yes or no?

Is good to add the meta tag keywords, or there is no difference doing it or not doing?

Put you name in it and see if you come up in searches and then you'll know!

 

Google nowadays ignore meta tag for keywords. I'm not sure if Yahoo still recognize meta keywords.

SE started to give less importance to meta keywords !

 

I would choose to put some keywords on meta tags even if others think that it is not effective anymore.

Putting alt tags I guess is a must for all our websites, it is still part of the on-page optimization process so I don't see any reason not to include it.

 

It is true that Google will not give you any kind of rankings boost based on your keywords meta tag. It is still worth including some keywords in this tag even if just for Yahoo & MSN ranking improvements. Even though those are smaller sources of traffic, they are not worth ignoring.

 

I agree. I would rather have them in there just to be safe. It certainly can't hurt anything and it doesn't take that much extra time.

 

Previously Google used to give importance to meta keywords. But as Google has change its algorithm now Google does not give any preference to the keywords.
But still putting keywords is necessary as other search engine still gives important to it.

keywords aren't indexed by google but apparently it's open to question about the other search engines, so maybe its a good idea to still have those meta tag key words . i do.
