read a article on duplicate content that seem to be saying that we can post articles on our sites if we have the following in our page META NO ROBOTS. have some other ways to get traffic to my articles besides search engines so it might not make much differences if these articles are crawled anyway and while most of my articles have not been duplicated there are a few I want to submit to a few article directories so I though putting META NO ROBOTS in at the top of an article would keep me from being penalized but when I pasted it on to one of my pages and looked at preview it was on my site were people can read it. Is there some kind of code that needs to be added to META NO ROBOTS on my page without humans being able to see it? If not is there some other code that will be invisible to site visitors that will keep the page from being crawled? Is there somewhere else this could be posted on my page like in the keywords or description? You can find this article in the section of the forum called the search engines, Google Bing and another one I can't remember. Another thing I reed to ask about using this tag is by not allowing robot on these page I realize that these pages may not rank but will I loose the benefit of having these articles on my site. If content is still king then I I am concerned about loosing that benefit if the page is not crawled. Cliff
You need to paste this at the top of your page between <head> and </head> <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX"> Of course you will lose the "content" on your site if you do not let the SEs crawl your text. I am not familiar with posting articles on collection sites but I would wait until after the bots have crawled the articles on your site before posting them on collection sites, at least you would have the benefit of "original content". But as I said I'm not familiar so it may be an empty guess.
