Meta Keywords - getting it right.

    Hi,

    What's the latest advice on meta keywords?

    I understand that meta keyword tags may not be as important today as they once were, however, I have been advised that it is still worth paying attention to them.

    I have also been advised to ensure that whatever meta keywords I generate for a page, I should ensure that those words appear in the page content as google mark you down if they don't

    Is there anything else I should know?

    How many meta keywords should I have, can I have too many?

    Hello Grunt,

    It's not true that meta keyword tags may not be as important today as they once were. Google not paying much attention on meta keywords, but other search engines like Yahoo and MSN still concentrating on meta keywords.

    There is no limitation to use meta keywords, but it is advisable that to use no more than 25 keywords per page.

    This is true. While google focuses on relevant inbound links and content, yahoo and MSN focus on title tags, urls, and meta tags.
