Even though meta keywords are irrelevent for a few search engines, other still use them. How many is too many?

Also, how long should your sites description be?

A while back I looked up the highest searched keywords in my niche and used them all over. I finally figured out that this was not working so well because a lot of the keywords I was using I had no content for. I strictly use keywords that best represent my content now.

    1. The keyword meta tag you shouldnt worry about much. 3-10 keywords would be fine. Again this is just for the sake of doing it, there is no real value here to stuff them.

    2. Make it a short and informative. Not spammy looking. Engines still use this tag sometimes as a description. So you want make the user click on your website by reading it.

Your description should be around 10-20 words. Too many words will cause it to be caught off the results page.

For the title I use around 80 characters.
Description and keywords about 250 characters.

Ya thats true many search engines now have started ignoring the META tags. But its still a wise thing to use Description tags. Use a description tag between 150 - 200 characters including spaces and use a Title between 50 - 60 characters including spaces.
