Meta description not visible

    I recently found that my websites meta description is not visible on google rankings. What can be the main reason behind this update???

    In most cases the meta description is not shown because Google uses rich snippets and hence the content it shows is very different. Can you be more specific as to what text is being displayed instead of the meta desc?

    Sometimes search engine also show description from the directory where you have posted your website link. Give your website address so that i can check the meta tag is in proper format.
