Hey guys: I've had this domain for a couple years now and never quite came up with a plan for "what the hell to make the site".

I know EXACTLY how I can/want to monetize it, and I'm experienced at building a traffic base w/ decent conversions......just NO idea WHATSOEVER what type of website this should be.

    Community?

    Social Networking?

    Dating Site?

    Any Ideas Please?

I'm open to the idea of a partnership as well as I have the budget to promote.

    Post away digital point geniuses!

I agree, a place for people to talk about relationship problems and trouble shoot with each other, on the other hand, you could make it place for people to rant about their breakups or tell funny stories.

I've never used dolphin before, but have noticed that it can be VERY nearly set up to be a dating site....including paid subscription/premium subscription stuff.

Keep the ideas coming......I've often struggled with whether this could turn into a problem site (revenge etc)

You might be best off with some type of humor.
A site similar to Fark, but with oddball stories about people's relationships.

    * Photos where the ex-wife uses a sledge-hammer on a guy's car (for example)
    * Stories about a ex-lover who brings 3 friends with pickup trucks and steals everything the other one used to own (while they are at work)

Both of those are based on true stories from people I used to work with. Boy am I glad I don't work there anymore.

gemini181 has a good idea and matt101 could also be right too. dolphin has too much going on for something this simple. that video takes up too much bandwidth, keep it simple to a good blog or vbulletin or something i got a bunch of stuff if you need help

Users post their break-up stories and get rated for the "messiest" of break-ups.

Visitors can visit and read the terrible, aweful, tragic break-ups of thousands of men and women.

Searchable database for users to search for break-ups that lasted 1 years, 2 years, 3 years, male break up with women -or- women break up with man, and a other search options to find the type of break-up stories visitors are interested in (So that they don't have to read through thousands.)

Add a tips/information section based on all the information compiled from all of the messy break-ups.
(I would charge for that in a VIP members or paid members section and offer other "FOR PAID MEMBERS ONLY" features with it)

Post ads in between each messy break-up story - or in between every two or three stories.

    PM me for more features/ideas.

I would submit my break-up story....

^ and for your idea "ideagod" why not incorporate the idea of others finding friends or new love interests who have had similar experiences.

The revenge/lawsuit thing: Dad is a lawyer, I'm sure we can work something up :)

The humor idea is a good one, but maybe both ideas could be combined.

    Whats fark?

fark.com is a huge web site. They mostly feature off-beat, funny, strange news stories (and comment about them)

I think the revenge angle would be the most popular. You'd get a lot of those "car crash" viewers, who want to see the nastiness. Not sure how you feel about the ethics of it though!

    Question:

Do you guys think that Dolphin6 would be my best solution for this type of site?

Would be something incorporate after you have enough members to make it worth it and useful.

Include pictures of the break-ups...dates, "last pic together", solo pic of the ex.

So first time visitors can find more interest/amusement than just text. They'll be able to see pictures of the couples who broke up and the last pic took of them together lol.
