messenger links don't work

    hi everyone,
    for some reason when i click on a link in yahoo messenger (eg right click on a friend's name and select 'view profile') nothing happens. this also occurs with the initial 'you have ** new emails' button, and all the other IE related clicks.
    can anybody tell me what i'm doing/what i have done wrong? it works fine on my other pc, and i have re-installed messenger twice to try and solve it.
