Message to Shawn from Banned Member

Usually not unless you are up to no good (bidding on each others sales, etc). There are tons of people on shared IPs. There is more to banning people for multiple accounts then just IP.

 

Not sure but this is how it works (I think).

Q. Why are multiple ids from same IP not allowed?
A. So that same person cannot keep giving himself positive reps, positive itrader ratings, talking good about his sale etc.

I think a red flag is raised when a mod sees 2 people continously exchanging reps, replying each other in threads about how good trader the person is etc.. Mod thinks this might be a same person...he checks the IP...if its same then they get banned.

In your case there might be people from same IP but nothing suspicious has been seen...thats the reason you are not banned

 

seriously is farooqaaa = timbo = redrum = lmesh? There is no way a guy who is dumb enough to be scam by someone he just scam a day ago...

This is a final response from LMesh and then I have nothing to do with this thread any further. I have made this clear to him and I do not want any bad feelings from any other member. So read up if you are interested:

Well, technically he violated the rules anyway as he lied about his age when
he signed up.

yes I don't pay any attention to putitng my age right as I'm older then 13.

Pair that with the fact he was deep in red rep.

That was Redrum not me. I was + rep.


Add to that the fact that it is pretty suspicious that all the people
involved in that transaction (buyer, seller and people backing him up) were
all from the same IP. That means even if they are legitimately different
people, they are still scamming people from DP by "vouching" for each other
and pretending to buy things from each other.

I don't think your facts are correct , one person who gave me itrader is
from the uk .. one is from Sydney (in another state) and the other I'm not
sure were he's from... Check there ips if you don't believe me.

alias's were and how they should be trusted.


get your facts right for once jeez. I never bid on Tim's things EVER and he
never bid on mine. Stop posting stuff that's your opinion and you're stating
it as facts when it's an opinion.


My mom let other kids use my computer isn't really valid

it is valid when 2 people log on and get banned for 2 accounts being on the
same ip

Not correct , I don't condone any type of scamming/ripping.

Like I said, this isn't a computer lab or a Internet cafe. Its the guys
house.

So you only have 1 email account? , I let heaps of people go on my computer
, I've prolly had at least 50 different logins of msn on my computer. I do
have friends that come over after school.

I don't know what Redrum has done as it's none of my business unless it
effects me. Which it is doing now seing as I'm banned.

Luke emailed me the explanations, etc which I was going to post but then
since I had his IP and real name at that point, I did a quick Google search

Looks like Timbo, redrum, and LMesh just got pwned

Once again , Redrum is not my account I got nothing to do with it. Also
that's taken from a banned member. But I'm not going to argue about an
account that's not mine.


The facts are : I am not redrum.
I love DP and want to be a active/helpful user.
Me and redrum share the same ip address.
I have 3 positive itrader from another state , uk , and some where else.(I
don't know the user)
I have recieved rep for doing good posts.
I have recieved 3 infractions , 2 for posting things like "Pm sent please
reply" and 1 for bumping one of my threads.
I have emailed webmaster@digitalpoint and no reply has been givin.
I could easily use a proxy and go on but I don't want to. I don't feel as if
I've got anything to hide.
Users who commented have been assuming.
This is easily the 3rd hour I've been trying to "prove" myself.
I just want my account Lmesh unbanned If Redrums got a problem he can post.


I will respect what ever choice the admin makes as it's his forum and I
trust his wise judgement.

no faraqooo was banned for a different reason...The point of that thread is the whois info of the scammer (lmesh) who was posting as Timbo at the time. It had nothing to do with IP addresses, it had to do with ownership of the site.

"Timbo" scammed faraqoo by stealing a domain. And what whois info was used to scam it? Luke Meshios (also the links in his sig had a whois of Luke Meshios)

It is pretty convenient to say that redrum and timbo only post from your house and you have nothing to do with them. If that was really true, this joker really needs to pick better freinds.

What are timbo and redrums real names?

 

banning for IP doesn't seems to make sense...

i know that more than 15 people access DP from our 300+ ppl organistion..

now banning all those 15 for that ????

will that make sense. or do we drop shawn a Ip to conferm first that this ip can see multiple people as this is a company's server can have multiple identities on it..

That's all there is to say about whether we ban people just by IP or not.

 

Totally agree, I spoke to LMesh just some days ago after sent me a request for help, and he went from one fishy story to another trying to get information about things that had nothing to do with his original helping request.

 

hmmm, if two people use the same ip.. one all green and one deep red. It seems like a case of one person playing the good cop and the other Bad cop... earn goodies with one.. and when u wanna scam use the other!
