Hi, Few days ago, my friends told me that there is a big mess with their Google local listing. As he told that when he check his local listing in google, there is an other website listed with their address and telephone no. although he has listed their website 3 years ago in Google Place. Please let me know that is there any way that i can help him to get rid off from this problem. What is the process to get again own website in google place. Hope you people have better solution.
I think you can use Google Product Forum for your queries. At their you can find best and possible solution.
How it can be done because when you register for a local business you receive a post card at the same address you have registered for. This post card contain a verification code without this your listing cannot be approved. How someone can get a post card at an address you belongs to?
John, you are getting some bad advice in this thread. I work with Google at the Google Places forum and help users all over the world with this exact problem. Google sometimes gets confused and merges businesses together. Your listings are merged in the Google database. There is nothing you can do that will fix this. You need Google to unmerge them. Here's the best way to get help: Use Google's Fix a Problem Troubleshooter (Be sure be logged into the same account the Place page is in) http://support.google.com/places/bin/static.py?hl=en&ts=1386120&page=ts.cs Select top option - Listing data THEN CLICK LINK bottom of page that says "use this form to specify correct business info" List anything that's incorrect and showing the other business details instead of your own. Google will see this is a merge and try to unmerge them. Google will typically get back to you within a week, but right now they are backed up and it could take 2 weeks.
That's absolutely correct. No one can register your local address without your permission. Google need a verification code to be entered by the registered person which will be sent through a post card at the same address which has registered. If someone has registered his business with the same address that belongs to you how could he made that confirmation? How long you have been on your present address. Do you own it or it is rented?
