It's the same here (France). Huge drop in traffic every year, starting a few days before Xmas. It should be better next week. Don't panic!
Generally U.S. traffic rises back up after the 1st of January ( new year ). I cannot wait, these holiday's are killing my traffic by 60%
This happen to most of the website since everyone is busy, my website traffic drop about 50% during this period
If you have an online gift shop, your site traffic will be boost 200% in this season. Other sites traffic down by 40% to 60% as I experience. By the way its time to give extra hours to our family Happy New Year & Merry Christmas.

I think here in the UK we may see people spending heavily before the VAT rise to 20% on January the 4th. Happy New Year
