We talked last week about doing something for a Christmas exchange. I decided to make a photoshop collage with a music tribute to the UK for 40 years of rock n roll (focus on the 80s). Ahd here it is:

If I were there, I'd buy ya a beer! Since I'm not and probably never will be, accept my thanks for all the great music you guys have put out over the last four decades.

Hey thanks GTech. Merry Christmas to you too. We'll never agree on politics but appreciate your XMas gesture. :D

I was a huge fan of the 1980s and a huge fan of Simple Minds and Tears For Fears. Queen were fine too, so were Dexys. Not too sure about Def Leppard though.

I used to like Howard Jones and FGTH (Frankie Goes To Hollywood) too. In fact, there were many great British bands from the 80's, and loads of great American bands too.

I can't return the favour with a collage (I'm shit with PhotoShop lol) but I'll dig out some excellent US groups of the 1980's though and post them laters.

The 1980's was my favourite era, and early to mid 90's were gr8 too. :)

Holy dog shit. Texas? Only steers and queers come from Texas, Private Cowboy. And you don't look much like a steer to me so that kinda narrows it down. :D

A quote from one of my favourate films. :)

You from Austin GTech buddy? Be sure to catch AJ on Christmas Eve @ 1600CST on Radio 590 KLBJ. I can give you a link if you like so you can listen live off of t'internet. :p

Oh, I just realised Radio 590 KLBJ used to be owned by the family of the crazy Illuminati man LBJ. I can get you a link from GCN Live though matey, just say the word.

I'm quite a bit north. Way north.

I'll pass on the link. Could you imagine my friends/family's reaction if I started reciting this kind of mess?

    Life is challenging enough ;)

    A few fantastic US 1980s bands/artists GT:

    REM
Michael Jackson (yes he's a damn odd person that likes likkle kiddies but his early music was excellent)
    The Red Hot Chilli Peppers
    Nirvana
    Prince

There are many more of course but these are some of my favorites. :)

Thats what I heard about the UK....except for the steers part.

After visiting there last year I believe it. UK men are seemingly more and more feminine and less masculine, unwilling or unable to defend themselves, the women, families or country anymore.

Its a shame so many men turned lefty and limp wristed.

    Merry Christmas to all!

Hopefully the new year will bring back good old fashioned masculinity, common sense and the will to do the right thing.

    LOL.

In certain areas of England some of the men are more masculine and even more stupid than some of the Redneck Hicks found in some of the southern states of the USA. :)

Jeez - stereotypes are a' flyin. Personally, I do not equate leftist politics with effeminacy, nor do I equate masculinity with stupidity. I rather hold the notion of the "poet warrior" up as a fine tradition - an intelligent, searching soul, courageous in life, fearless in death. Able to pen poetry as ably as wielding a sword.
