I have two forums, I am planning to merge, they both have different domain names, what would be the best way to make both domains goto the merged site, with regards to keeping page rank and google search results.. any advice is appreaciated thanks
Well, the one that you're going to merge into, do nothin. But for the other forum, redirect it via a 303 and it'll redirect all traffic and search results. Your rankings will drop for the other domain, but that's bond to happen. Search engines will notice the change and start crawling your merged-forum for the keywords that the other forum held, and your rankings will steady climb on your newly merged-community.
