Merchant Account Provider Closed My Account - Need Options

Hi. I have an ecommerce site selling lingerie and adult toys and my merchant account provider just notified me today that they have closed my account due to the nature of my business. I was wondering if anyone knows any account providers that will deal with high risk businesses? This is so frustrating as it has only been 2 weeks since I launched my store! Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

I use First Data via Linkpoint. It's my own merchant account, but if you're having trouble getting payment processing and I feel like First Data will be OK with the transactions, we can work out an arrangement so I can handle payments for you.

 

Unfortunately, First Data was the one that closed my account! Apparently they don't handle business of this nature.

 

Ah, OK... sorry I couldn't help. I have never had a problem with them processing payments for lingerie or anything like that, though. Could I get a look at your site?

I haven't had a problem selling adult material or toys. I took a quick look at your site, and it actually looks pretty tame compared to what I sell. Did they explain why they shut you down? Were you spamvertized or maybe have a high percentage or chargebacks or something?

 

No chargebacks as of yet. All they said was it was closed due to the nature of my business as it is considered "high risk".

 

That's odd. I will explore your site a little more in detail when I get to a point where I can use my laptop. Maybe I missed something surfing it from my phone.

I use the Linkpoint gateway and pay a little higher fees... maybe I pay a little more for high risk protection or something. I've also had my merchant account with them for a long time (at least 2006), so I may be operating under a different contract. When I joined, it wasn't even First Data. How long ago did you sign up? Also, can I ask what your rate/monthly gateway fee was? I'm paying a percentage plus about $100 a month, so I could be paying extra for high-risk service.

considered "high risk" wonder why? Are a lot of people returning adult toys? Better to be shut down in the first two weeks than being shut down 2-3 months down the line and have to scramble big time. Still that really sucks. Other posters in this thread should list there companies here so other viewers can go there as well.
