Hello everyone. A couple of questions for you all...
Say if I wished to accept payments on my website worldwide,i.e, from international credit cards - which one in your opinion would be better - First Data or something like World Pay or any good recommendations is appreciated (keeping in mind any hassles that I may have to face in future if things were to get bigger).

And has anyone dealt with or heard of Sage Payment solutions for merchant accounts. Suggestions? Thanks.

And not sure if a question like this is relevant but - would there be any ONE US bank that can be regarded as a BANK that is more favorable to Ecommerce business? - to open an account with. Thanks.

As for a US merchant account, they're all going to be the same. One thing you will run into is downgrade charges. Unfortunately, just about every international card you run into is going to downgrade. It's important that you get a really good mid and non qualified rate to reduce your expense from downgraded cards.

Paypal also charges additional for international transactions:
    $0.00 USD - $3,000.00 USD 3.9% + $0.30 USD
    $3,000.01 USD - $10,000.00 USD 3.5% + $0.30 USD
    $10,000.01 USD - $100,000.00 USD 3.2% + $0.30 USD
    > $100,000.00 USD 2.9% + $0.30 USD

As to answer your last question. First Data usually doesn't take new Ecommerce businesses, and I'm not sure about Sage. There are a number of merchant account providers that do take startup ecommerce but First Data is generally not one of them.

Well it would of course mainly depend on your situation.
E.q. what sort of business are you conducting and what number of cards you wish to process?
Are you in need of a Virtual Terminal or just some 3th party gateway?

The second question you might wish to ask yourself is, are you willing to have the account in
your personal name? Allot people forget that when they sell a product and conduct business
in there personal name, that when something goes wrong, they can be hold responsible in person.
If you are about to do some serious business it might be smart to setup a corporation or
anything that suits your need to conduct business.

If you need any form of advice feel free to ask or visit our website for some answers!

You should take a look at Wirecard or maybe chronopay if you are looking for an alternative to some US ISO or payment service provider, and as offshorePrivacy already mentioned, look into if you will go and do business as an sole trader or as an corporation..
